Six beers, six stories and plenty of beer knowledge
Tasting beer is fun. Knowing what you’re tasting makes it even more interesting. During our guided beer tasting at Proeflokaal Arendsnest, one of our beer experts will take you on a journey through the world of Dutch craft beer. You’ll taste six different beers while learning more about the breweries, beer styles, ingredients and brewing process.
No dry lectures or complicated jargon — just a fun and accessible tasting with great beers, good stories and plenty of opportunities to ask questions.
Whether you’ve been drinking craft beer for years or barely know the difference between a Tripel and an IPA, everyone is welcome to join.
What will we taste?
Proeflokaal Arendsnest is entirely dedicated to Dutch beer. With 52 different beers on tap and many more available by the bottle, there’s plenty to discover.
During the tasting, we’ll select six different Dutch beers. You’ll explore a variety of flavours and styles while learning more about:
- the Dutch beer scene and its breweries;
- different beer styles and flavours;
- ingredients and the brewing process;
- the stories behind the beers in your glass;
- how to look at, smell and taste beer like an expert.
The beers are served in 12 cl tasting glasses, with water and accompanying snacks provided throughout the tasting.
The entire tasting takes approximately 60–90 minutes.

You can also book a tasting for fewer than six people. The minimum price for a guided tasting is always €225.
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, you can request a tasting at any preferred time within the available hours. On Thursday and Friday, tastings can start no later than 4:00 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday no later than 1:00 PM.
Please note that submitting a request does not automatically confirm your booking. We will always confirm whether your preferred date and time are available.
Prefer to explore on your own?
Are you with a smaller group, does the timing not work for you, or do you simply feel like spontaneously trying a few different beers? You don’t need to book a guided tasting. Just stop by Proeflokaal Arendsnest and create your own beer tasting. Our draught beers are also available in 15 cl tasting glasses, so you can explore different Dutch beers at your own pace. And if the bar isn’t too busy, feel free to ask our bartenders for recommendations or the story behind the beer in your glass. They’ll be happy to help you find something that suits your taste.
